On May 7, 2007 CWNA President Peter McMullen gave this oral presentation at the Listening Session of the newly appointed University of Wisconsin Committee at the UWM Student Union. This committee will consider possible changes of the student conduct code (Chapter 17).

A Vision for the Milwaukee River Corridor
Milwaukee’s Central Park?

While the City is undertaking a comprehensive neighborhood plan, a group of people have been ahead of the curve in protecting a valued asset.  The Milwaukee River Workgroup is preparing an overlay district that will provide temporary limits on development to protect the river ‘viewshed’.  The boundaries of the overlay district include areas of Cambridge Woods.  Come join the discussion on what the overlay district means and share your vision for the river corridor.

Residential Parking Permit (RPP) Program

The Residential Parking Permit (RPP) Program for the UWM neighborhood is going into effect this summer. The implementation of the parking ordinance has been delayed until August 1st, 2007. Please take a look at the RPP map to see what streets are being included.

Oakland Avenue
is a well traveled thoroughfare on Milwaukee’s Eastside between Milwaukee’s downtown and northern suburbs. The business district has gone through several changes with some additional proposed changes underway. How can a small neighborhood shopping area be all things to all people and create its own identity? Please join the BID’s Executive Director, Jim Plaisted, in hearing about new business ventures, street improvements, and discussing a vision for the area.
