Public Participation in Community Planning Using the Image Preference Survey
Representatives of the North East Area Plan are seeking public outreach opportunities for administering the Image Preference Survey. The IPS is a planning method that uses a visual series of questions that draws out responses from groups of people. For best results, it should be given to a wide range of plan area residents. The survey includes some discussion slides to help clarify the image rankings–so it is the residents who interpret the scores, not others.
For additional information, visit the Department of City Development web site at www.mkedcd.org/planning/plans/Northeast Here you will also find a direct link to the Community Survey, which is another public outreach method used in the planning of the North Eastside. The Community Survey is an important way the city can learn what is happening in your neighborhood today and the Image Preference Survey will assist in what changes would make the Northeast Side…a better place in the future!

The November elections continue with the Cambridge Woods Neighborhood Association annual election of board members. The election and team updates will be followed by a discussion with your County Supervisor, Gerry Broderick. This will be a good opportunity to hear about the current County Budget process and other areas of interest to you.

September is Safety Month in Cambridge Woods Neighborhood. The CWNA Safety Committee has invited District 5 Community Liaison Officer, Bruce Scott, to come and speak to residents about crime and safety efforts in the area. Officer Scott will be joined by two bike patrol officers and if his schedule permits, the new District 5 Captain, Anthony Smith. Topics covered include taking safety precautions, use of UWM paid overtime patrols, and a new UWM Criminal Justice Internship program.
Public Meeting and Potluck Picnic
