Neighborhood Quality

The team works to maintain and increase the quality of the Cambridge Woods Neighborhood.

The Neighborhood Quality Team (NQT) is always interested in obtaining new members. Anyone interested in becoming a NQT member is welcome to attend the monthly meetings held the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM, location to be determined each month. If you cannot attend the monthly meetings there is also an opportunity to become a NQT Project Member. The NQT Projects often allow you to set the day and time you can volunteer.

These are the five areas the NQT focuses on:

1. Housing Stock
Example: Maintenance of owner occupied housing, providing a list of “houses for sale”
2. Neighborhood Beautification
Example: Planting, litter and graffiti removal, public art, and rain barrels.
3. Good Relations Among Neighbors
Example: Welcome letters, highlighting a neighbor, helping neighbors.
4. Good Relations Among Neighbors, Landlords, Local Businesses and Schools
Example: Communication with businesses on Oakland, volunteer at Hartford, Maryland or Riverside schools
5. Linking with Umbrella Groups
Example: UNA= University Neighborhood Association
The former ETMA=Eastside Transportation Management
Association (this is now a subcommittee of UNA)
