How to get this Crime Watch window sign
Placing a Crime Watch sign in your front window or door is recommended by the CWNA Safety Team to help prevent crime in the neighborhood. The more homes that display the sign, the greater the message of neighborhood concern & unity related to crime prevention. The sign measures 13 1/4 ” high by 12″ wide. If you would like a Crime Watch sign, please email the Safety Team at SafetyTeam@cambridgewoods.org
The Cambridge Woods Safety Team recommends that all residences install house numbers on either the garage, or the back of any building that faces an alley. It is actually a city ordinance to place house numbers in a conspicuous place on the front of each building and at the rear or side of properties that abut or are adjacent to alleys. The purpose is to avoid any unnecessary delays when police and/or paramedics are called to an emergency.
Over this past summer, Safety Team members conducted a survey to see how our neighborhood is doing in regard to installing house numbers. The entire 18-block district was studied. Of 512 buildings that included homes, apartment buildings, and businesses, 147 (28%) had alley numbers. Fliers were distributed to the other 365 properties that did not have alley numbers in place (72%).
The Safety Team will repeat the survey next year and report on any changes. In the meantime, please feel free to ask questions or provide feedback to Safetyteam@cambridgewoods.org
